Since preaching his initial sermon, Reverend Lance has served the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church family in numerous roles (e.g., Sunday School Teacher, New Ministers’ Homiletics Trainer, Youth Minister, and Radio Broadcast Co-Host). Additionally, he helped Pastor Alex Young, Jr., start the Majestic Fellowship Church where he served as Assistant Pastor for three years. Currently, he nourishes and displays his gifts through teaching numerous courses at the United Baptist College and Seminary, serving as an assistant ordination catechist working with Dr. John Lunn, Sr., and following his pastor’s footsteps as a member of the Trustee and Executive Boards of the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Maryland. As a native of Baltimore, Maryland, Reverend Lance is a product of its public school system. He attended and graduated with honors (top ten) from Forest Park High School He is a Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) from which he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management. Reverend Lance is also a graduate of the Howard University School of Divinity (HUSD) from which he obtained a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctorate of Ministry (D. Min) degree. Reverend Lance is married to the former Benita D. Hicks and they reside in Laurel, Md. In December of 1999, God added to their family as “King” David Hezekiah Lance was born. | |
